Motion to Proceed to the vehicle for the immigration bill (H.R. 2579)
Feb 13 2018 06:38 PM
- The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m.
- Following leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of and VOTE on the motion to proceed to H.R. 2579, the vehicle for the immigration bill.
Senator Moran: (6:28 p.m)
- Spoke on Native American labor.
- "But the NLRB has intruded upon the gains made. The Tribal Labor Sovereignty Act that is introduced and will be before the Senate before long is pretty straightforward and it is straightforward. It exempts tribal-owned entities operated on tribal-owned lands. Businesses owned by individual tribal members or any operations off the tribal lands still remains subject to the scrutiny of the National Labor Relations Board. In 2013, the United States Senate had a vote taken on reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act. It included new authorities for tribal governments to protect Native American women, including when harmed by non-Indians."
