Gregg: The Right Way to do Health Care Reform
Dec 01 2009
Providing Affordable, High Quality Health Care for All Americans
November 30, 2009
WASHINGTON – Throughout the course of the health care debate, Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH), a senior member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, has been an outspoken voice on the need to provide meaningful health insurance for all Americans in a fiscally responsible way. Working with colleagues on both sides of the aisle, he has focused on expanding coverage to the uninsured while reducing the long-term costs of health care, and ensuring that if people are happy with their current insurance plan they are able to keep it. Senator Gregg strongly opposes any attempt to move to a single-payer or government-run health care system. He believes such an approach will put a Washington bureaucrat between you and your doctor, dramatically increase the cost of healthcare, lead to delays and rationing, and stifle innovation in the development of life saving new drugs and medical advances.
