Barrasso: CBO Raises Warning Signs About Forcing Americans Into Government Health Care

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, released the following statement today regarding a Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analysis of the consequences of forcing Americans into a government-run health care system:

“CBO paints a grim picture of government-run health care. The warning signs include massive spending increases, higher taxes, longer lines, less choice, and lower quality care. We already know that Senator Sanders’ radical overhaul would eliminate private health insurance for 180 million working Americans, while threatening the quality care current seniors receive from Medicare. CBO’s report provides more evidence that government-run health care would destroy most Americans’ ability to receive the care they need from a doctor they want at a time they choose.”
