Thune Announces New Hires to Conference Team

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, today announced two new hires for the Senate Republican Conference:

Dominique McKay has been named press secretary for Thune’s leadership office, the Senate Republican Conference. McKay previously served as deputy press secretary at the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. Prior to joining the Education and the Workforce Committee, McKay served as legislative correspondent and staff assistant for Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) in his personal office. She earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Liberty University.

Adam Scheidler has been named creative director for the Senate Republican Conference. Scheidler currently serves as digital communications director at the House Committee on Financial Services. Prior to joining the Financial Services Committee, Scheidler served as press secretary for the Small Business Committee. He previously worked as a deputy communications director and legislative assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives. Scheidler is a graduate of Georgetown University.

"Dominique's breadth of experience on both sides of Capitol Hill makes her a great addition to the team," said Thune. "Adam brings production talent, a fresh outlook, and creativity to the Senate Republican Conference’s digital content. I’m glad to have them as part of my team as we work to share what Senate Republicans are doing for the American people.”

McKay began work for the Senate Republican Conference on June 1. Scheidler joins the team on July 31.
